Indeck Selective Catalytic Reduction System (I-SCR™)
The I-SCR System (Indeck Selective Catalytic Reduction System) is part of Indeck’s comprehensive range of products aimed at minimizing NOx emissions from industrial watertube package boilers, waste heat recovery boilers, and various other designs since the early 1980s. To learn more about renting or buying an ultra-low NOx boiler system, please get in touch with our sales engineers at 847-541-8300.
The Indeck Selective Catalytic Reduction (I- SCR™) anhydrous system uses a selective catalytic reduction process that converts nitrogen oxide (NOx) in the combustion flue gas stream into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O) without forming secondary pollutants. The I-SCR system is a product line within the Indeck Clean Air Technologies product offering. It is designed for safe and reliable NOx reduction that incorporates low cost operation and maximum stand-alone operation with minimum operator intervention.
Utilizing the latest flow modeling along with fluid, thermal and structural computational analyses our engineers have successfully combined all critical components into the I-SCR system to enable a safe startup, control, and shutdown.

An Engineered System Designed to Reduce NOx Emissions
Indeck’s engineering team has developed the Indeck Selective Catalytic Reduction (I-SCR) system to meet the most rigorous emission control requirements. By utilizing a selective catalytic reduction process, Indeck’s system effectively converts nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from combustion flue gas into harmless nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O), without generating secondary pollutants. This reaction is achieved through the controlled injection of anhydrous ammonia (NH3) into the exhaust gas of the boiler, followed by the passage of the gas-ammonia mixture through a catalyst.
Indeck offers both anhydrous and aqueous I-SCRs for boilers ranging from 60,000pph to 250,000pph, ensuring a comprehensive solution for diverse needs.
Indeck Clean Air Technologies
Indeck’s SCR system is one of a series of products in the Indeck Clean Air Technologies product offering. It is designed for safe and reliable NOx reduction that incorporates low cost operation and maximum stand-alone operation with minimum operator intervention. I-SCR systems are designed to operate with Indeck’s mobile rental boilers.
Utilizing the latest flow modeling along with fluid, thermal and structural computational analyses, our engineers have successfully combined all critical components into the I-SCR system to enable a safe startup, control, and shutdown.
Meets EPA Emission Requirements to Reduce Air Pollutants
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has implemented regulations that necessitate refineries, chemical plants, industrial facilities, and other plants to incorporate pollution controls or implement measures to reduce air pollution. These standards aim to be affordable, protective, and practical. In accordance with these regulations, the EPA has established a rule called Boiler MACT (maximum achievable control technology) that imposes more stringent emissions limits on industrial and commercial boilers, as well as process heaters.
The Boiler MACT rule was developed with the objective of achieving the highest possible reduction of hazardous air pollutants while considering the associated costs. Indeck’s line of low NOx equipment fully complies with the emissions requirements mandated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Additionally, Indeck offers Boiler MACT Engineering studies to evaluate plant compliance with EPA requirements.
